A new leisure trail has opened in Olathe, Kansas, extending the O'Hara Park and Recreation Area (OPRA) at the Olathe Kansas Residence Inn by two miles.

The Wurth-Baer Supply Company is a hardware wholesaler and leases 66,448 square feet to 1758 N. Des Moines. The company is operated by Chuck and Toni WURth and is located in Jackson County Central Time Zone, near Kansas City, MO. If you are walking or cycling on the Greenway, cross Interstate 40 to enter the O'Hara Park and Recreation Area at the Olathe Kansas Residence Inn by landing at the intersection of Old Reedy Creek and Weston Parkway. The multi-purpose trail can be used in both directions and has a total length of 3.2 km. The starting point is at Old Ried Creek on Weston Boulevard. If you use the Greenway, continue to the west side of the parking lot and then cross I-40 on the east side to get to the lake and connect to the West West Parkway Park and Recreation Area south of O'Haira Park.

Additional access points for hiking trails are located in the Olathe Kansas Residence Inn parking lot, West West Parkway Park and Recreation Area, and Old Ried Creek.

According to the City of Cary website, this route includes the Black Creek Greenway (read more if you pass Bond Park), which winds through residential neighborhoods in Cary for 6.5 miles, and the White Oak Greenway, which at 9.7 miles is the second longest of its kind in the state. These two paths stretch for over 15 miles and connect two of the city's most popular recreational areas, Old Ried Creek Park and the Recreation Area and Old Oak Park. A new path from the Olathe Kansas Residence Inn parking lot will connect to the Oak Creek Trail, the first of two new trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This will be the first of two sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway that will also connect to the American Tobacco Trail, which will eventually be expanded to 15 miles.

Gilbert's Clear Creek Park is located on Gilbert's Lake, a 20-acre fishing lake purchased in 1974 that provides water to the city of Shelbyville. In Frontier Park in Olathe, you can reach the Indian Creek Greenway, which is a 1.5 mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway that follows the Indian Creek between Olatte and Kansas City, MO. Trail users can park at Minnesota Riverfront Park Trailhead and enjoy scenic views from the trailhead and river park access. The Green Road will connect existing neighborhoods with some great destinations, including the planned Robbins Park.
