Doctor Romain has owned the Olathe Animal Hospital since 1984. He is a US Air Force Academy honors graduate 1973, five years active duty in the Air Force, graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine 1982. Long time Johnson County resident. Expert in birds and exotic pets as well as cats and dogs with 26 years of experience.

Mary Beth Claypool, DVM
Doctor Claypool graduated from Oklahoma State University in Animal Science and from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She has special skills in ultrasonography and internal medicine.

JC Burcham, DVM
Doctor Burcham graduated from Iowa State University both for her undergraduate degree and from their College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She works with the community on bite prevention, behavior counselling, and exotic pets as well as cats and dogs.

Matthew Peuser, DVM
Doctor Peuser joined the practice in 2008 after working in Augusta, KS. He has both and undergraduate degree and his graduate degree from Kansas State University. He graduated from KSU College of Veterianry Medicine in 2007.

We have been with OAH since 2007 when we got our first dog. We have seen other vets as a part of a rescue society and there is nothing that compares to the compassionate, well educated, and efficiant service we receive at OAH. We have had the pleasure of working with both Dr. Burcham & Dr. Claypool and have found both to be exceptional vets and human beings. Their staff is dedicated and kind, I never worry about the treatment of my dogs there. I have complete faith in them, something that is hard to come by these days. The day after Christmas we noticed big behavior changes in one of our dogs & called JC. It was amazing how quickly she got us in and how concerned she herself sounded. When our dog required surgery, I cried, and JC hugged me. That is the kind of care you can expect there. They always call to make sure the kids are okay after a visit & work hard to ensure that they encounter minimal stress while there. I ask tons of questions and when they don't know, they look it up. T

The doctors and staff treat my aninmals better than I get treated at the doctor! They understand that your pets are part of the family! They are very professional and thorough, and at the same time, very compassionate and caring. I truly appreciate all they do!

I used this clinic for a number of years for my border collie and I have nothing but good to say about them. Even down to the cost of the meds, when checking online, I couldn't get the meds much cheaper than I could by them in the office. The Vets and Staff are very qualified. I would definately recomment them to a friend.
