The Olathe Animal Hospital is voluntarily accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. That means that we are inspected regularly and must meet over 190 requirements to meet a national standard of excellence.
We offer full service veterinary care, surgery, boarding and grooming.

Mark G. Romain, DVM
Doctor Romain has owned the Olathe Animal Hospital since 1984. He is a US Air Force Academy honors graduate 1973, five years active duty in the Air Force, graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine 1982. Long time Johnson County resident. Expert in birds and exotic pets as well as cats and dogs with 26 years of experience.

Mary Beth Claypool, DVM
Doctor Claypool graduated from Oklahoma State University in Animal Science and from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. She has special skills in ultrasonography and internal medicine.

JC Burcham, DVM
Doctor Burcham graduated from Iowa State University both for her undergraduate degree and from their College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She works with the community on bite prevention, behavior counselling, and exotic pets as well as cats and dogs.

Matthew Peuser, DVM
Doctor Peuser joined the practice in 2008 after working in Augusta, KS. He has both and undergraduate degree and his graduate degree from Kansas State University. He graduated from KSU College of Veterianry Medicine in 2007.

I used this clinic for a number of years for my border collie and I have nothing but good to say about them. Even down to the cost of the meds, when checking online, I couldn't get the meds much cheaper than I could by them in the office. The Vets and Staff are very qualified. I would definately recomment them to a friend.
 Dr. Romain is great, others not so much

We have used Olathe Animal Hospital for about 15 years for our cockatiels. Dr. Mark Romain is a bird expert and has helped us many times. Unfortunately some of his newer colleagues, specifically Dr. Marybeth Claypool, are not as knowledgeable. We've had some negative experiences with Dr. Claypool not knowing the answers to our questions and giving us incorrect information rather than just telling us she did not know. Dr. Romain is the owner and it is great when you can get in to see him, but as his business has expanded he is not always accessible.
